يَا عُمْرِي وَيَا رُوحِي يَا سِرِّي وَفُتُوحِي
يَا بَلْسَمْ لِجُرُوحِي يَا رَسُولَ الله
yā ʿumrī wa yā rūḥī yā sirrī wa futūḥī
yā balsam lijurūḥī yā rasūla Allah
My life and my soul, my innermost reality and my openings,
the balm for my wounds, O Messenger of Allah!
يَا رِجَالاً غَابُوا فِي حَضْرَةِ اللهِ
كَالثُّلَيْجِ ذَابُوا وَاللهِ وَالله
yā rijālāan ghābū fī ḥaḍrati Allahi
kālththulayji dhābū wa Allahi wa Allah
O righteous ones who have faded from sight into the presence of Allah
like a small portion of snow that has melted. By Allah! By Allah!
تَرَاهُمْ حَيَارَى فِي شُهُودِ اللهِ
تَراهُمْ سُكَارَى واللهِ والله
tarāhum ḥayārā fī shuhūdi Allahi
tarāhum sukārā wāllhi wāllh
You will see them perplexed in witnessing Allah
You will see them (as if they are) drunk
تَرَاهُمْ نَشَاوَى عِنْدَ ذِكْرِ اللهِ
عَلَيْهِمْ طَلَاوَةْ مِنْ حَضْرَةِ الله
tarāhum nashāwā ʿinda dhikri Allahi
ʿalayhim ṭalāwah min ḥaḍrati Allah
You will see them (as if they were) intoxicated at the remembrance of Allah
They are covered in splendor from the Divine Presence
إِنْ غَنَّى المُغَنِّي بِجَمَالِ اللهِ
فَقَامُوا لِلمَغْنَى طَرَباً بِاللّهِ
in ghannāl mughannī bijamāli Allahi
faqāmū lilmaghnā ṭarabāan bi Allahi
If the singer sings the beauty of Allah
They immediately stand to take the treasure filled with joy for Allah
نَسْمَتُهُمْ هَبَّتْ مِن حَضْرَةِ اللهِ
حَيَاتُهُم دَامَتْ بِحَيَاةِ الله
nasmatuhum habbat min ḥaḍrati Allahi
ḥayātuhum dāmat biḥayāti Allah
Their morning breeze gusts from the presence of Allah
Their lives remain with the life of Allah
قُلُوبٌ خَائِضَةْ فِي رَحْمَةِ الله
أَسْرَارٌ ذَلِيلَةْ فِي طَلَبِ الله
qulūbun khā’iḍah fī raḥmati Allah
asrārun dhalīlah fī ṭalabi Allah
Their hearts are submerged in the mercy of Allah
Humble are their innermost states is seeking Allah
عُقُولٌ ذَاهِلَةْ مِنْ سَطْوَةِ الله
نُفُوسٌ ذَلِيلَةْ فِي طَلَبِ الله
ʿuqūlun dhāhilah min saṭwati Allah
nufūsun dhalīlah fī ṭalabi Allah
Bewildered are their minds from the power of Allah
Submissive are their souls in seeking Allah
فَهُمُ الأَغْنِيَاءْ بِنِسْبَةِ الله
وهُمُ الأَتْقِيَاءْ واللهِ وَالله
fahumul aghniyā’ binisbati Allah
whumul atqiyā’ wāllhi wa Allah
For they are the wealthy in their connection to Allah
They are the righteous. By Allah! By Allah!
مَنْ رَآهُمْ رَأَى مَنْ قَامَ بِاللّهِ
فَهُمُ فِي الوَرَى مِنْ عُيُونِ الله
man rāhum rāā man qāma bi Allahi
fahumu fīl warā min ʿuyūni Allah
Whoever sees them, sees one who stands (in devotion) to Allah
They are the eyes of Allah in creation
عَلَيْهِمُ الرَّحْمَةْ وَرِضْوانُ اللهِ
عَلَيْهِمُ نَسْمَةْ مِنْ حَضْرَةِ الله
ʿalayhimur raḥmah wa riḍwānu Allahi
ʿalayhimu nasmah min ḥaḍrati Allah
Upon them is the mercy and the contentment of Allah
Upon them is the Divine gust (of mercy) from the presence of Allah
