صَلَّى الله عَلَى مُحَمَّدْ
صَلَّى الله عَلَى مُحَمَّدْ
ṣalla Allah ʿalā muḥammad

May Allah's blessings be upon Muhammad ﷺ
May Allah's blessings be upon Muhammad ﷺ
صَلَّى الله عَلَى مُحَمَّدْ
و عَلَى آلِـهْ وَ سَلَّمْ
ṣalla Allah ʿalā muḥammad
w ʿalā ālih wa sallam
May Allah's blessings be upon Muhammad ﷺ
and upon his family, as well as peace
قَدْ بَدَا وَجْهُ الحَبِـيـبِ
لَاحَ فِي وَقْتِ السَّحَرْ
qad badā wajhul ḥabībi
lāḥa fī waqtis saḥar
The face of the Beloved appeared
and shone in the early dawn
نُورُهُ قَدْ عَمَّ قَلْبِي
فَسَجَدْتُ بِانْكِسَارْ
nūruhu qad ʿamma qalbī
fasajadtu bin kisār
His light pervaded my heart
so I prostrated myself in awe
قَالَ لِي ارْفَعْ وَاسْأَلَنِّي
فَلَكُمْ كُلُّ وَطَرْ
qāla līr faʿ was alannī
falakum kullu waṭar
He said to me: 'Rise! - and ask of Me!
You will have whatever you desire.
قُلْتُ أَنْتَ أَنْتَ حَسْبِي
لَيْسَ لِي عَنْكَ اصْطِبَارْ
qultu anta anta ḥasbī
laysa lī ʿankaṣ ṭibār
I replied: You. You are enough for me!
Away from You I cannot live!
قالَ عَبْدِي لَكَ بُشْرَى
فَتَنَعَّمْ بِالنَّظَرْ
l la ʿabdī laka bushrā
fatanaʿʿam bin naẓar
He said: My slave, there is good news for you
so enjoy the vision.
أَنْتَ كَـنْـرٌ لِـعِـبَـادِي
أَنْتَ ذِكْرَى لِلبَشَرْ
anta kanrun liʿibādī
anta dhikrā lilbashar
You are a treasure to My slaves
and you are a remembrance to mankind.
كُلُّ حُسْنٍ وَجَمَالٍ
فِي الوَرَى مِنِّي انْتَشَرْ
kullu ḥusnin wajamālin
fīl warā minnīn tashar
Every good and every beauty
in man has spread from me
بَطَنَتْ أَوْصَافُ ذَاتِي
وَتَجَلَّتْ فِي الْأَثَـرْ
baṭanat awṣāfu dhātī
watajallat fīl athar
The attributes of My essence were hidden
and they were manifested in the existence-traces.
إِنَّمَا الكَوْنُ مَعَانٍ
قَائِمَاتٌ بِالصُّوَرْ
innamal kawnu maʿānin
qā’imātun biṣ ṣuwar
Truly created beings are meanings
set up in images
كُلُّ مَنْ يُدْرِكُ هَذَا
كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ العِبَرْ
kullu man yudriku hadhā
kāna min ahlil ʿibar
All who grasp this are
are among the people of discrimination
لَمْ يَذُقْ لَذَّةَ عَيْشٍ
الَّذِي عَنَّا انْحَصَرْ
lam yadhuq ladhdhata ʿayshin
alladhī ʿannan ḥaṣar
They will not taste the sweetness of life
those whom are cut off from us
رَبَّنَا صَلِّ عَلَى مَنْ
نُورُهُ عَمَّ البَشَرْ
rabbanā ṣalli ʿalā man
nūruhu ʿammal bashar
Our Lord, bless the one
whose light has spread through all mankind.
