الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl
Prayer upon the Prophet
And peace upon the Messenger
الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī
wamuḥammad ʿarabī
The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
خَيْرُ مَنْ وَطِـئَ الثَّرَى
المُشَفَّعُ فِي الوَرَى
khayru man waṭi’ath tharā
almushaffaʿu fīl wara
The best who walked the earth
The Intercessor for all creation.
مَنْ بِهِ حُلَّتْ عُـرَى
كُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُذْنِبِ
man bihi ḥullat ʿurā
kulli ʿabdin mudhnibi
By whom the chains were undone
For every sinful servant
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl

And peace upon the Messenger
الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī
wamuḥammad ʿarabī
The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
مَا لَهُ مِنْ مُّشْبِهٍ
فَازَ أُمَّتُهُ بِهِ
mā lahu min mushbihin
fāza ummatuhu bihi
He has no equal
His nation triumphed with him
مَنْ يَمُتْ فِي حُبِّهِ
نَالَ كُلَّ المَطْلَبِ
man yamut fī ḥubbihi
nāla kullal maṭlabi
Whoever dies in his love
Achieves every desire
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl

And peace upon the Messenger
الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī
wamuḥammad ʿarabī
The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
أَنَا مَفْتُونٌ بِهِ
طَامِعٌ فِي قُرْبِهِ
anā maftūnun bihi
ṭāmiʿun fī qurbihi
I am infatuated with him
Yearning for his closeness
رَبِّ عَجِّلْ لِي بِهِ
عَلَّ يَصْفُو مَشْرَبِي
rabbi ʿajjil lī bihi
ʿalla yaṣfū mashrabī
Lord, hasten him to me
Perhaps my drink will be pure
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl

الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī
wamuḥammad ʿarabī
The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
كَمْ شَفَا مِنْ مسْقِمٍ
كَمْ جَلَا مِنْ أَظْلُمِ
kam shafā min msqimin
kam jalā min aẓlumi
How many sick has he healed
How many darknesses has he cleared
كَمْ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْعُمٍ
لِلْفَطِينِ وَلِلْغَبِيّ
kam lahu min anʿumin
lilfaṭīni walilghabiyy
How many blessings does he have
For the wise and the simple
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl

And peace upon the Messenger
الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī
wamuḥammad ʿarabī
The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
كَمْ لَهُ مِنْ مَكْرُمَاتْ
كَمْ عَطَايَا وَافِرَاتْ
kam lahu min makrumāt
kam ʿaṭāyā wāfirāt
How many noble deeds he has
How many abundant gifts
كَمْ رَوَتْ عَنْهُ الثِّقَاتْ
كُلَّ عِلْمٍ وَاجِبِ
kam rawat ʿanhuth thiqāt
kulla ʿilmin wājibi
How many trustworthy ones narrated from him
Every necessary knowledge
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl
Prayer upon the Prophet
And peace upon the Messenger
الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī
wamuḥammad ʿarabī
The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
نِعْمَ ذَاكَ المُصْطَفَى
ذُو المُرُوءَةِ وَالوَفَاءْ
niʿma dhākal muṣṭafā
dhūl murū’ati wal wafa’
Blessed is that chosen one
The one of honor and loyalty
فَضْلُ أَحْمَدَ مَا خَفَى
شَرْقَهَا وَالمَغْرِبِ
faḍlu aḥmada mā khafā
sharqahā wal maghribi
The virtue of Ahmad is not hidden
In the east and the west
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl

الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي

The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
كمْ بِهِ مِنْ مُولَعٍ
غَارِقٍ فِي الأَدْمُعِ
km bihi min mūlaʿin
ghāriqin fīl admuʿi
How many are infatuated with him
Drowning in tears
عَقْلُهُ لَمَّا دُعِي
فِي مَحَبَّتِهِ سُبِي
ʿaqluhu lammā duʿī
fī maḥabbatihi subī
Their mind, when called
Was captivated in his love
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl

And peace upon the Messenger
الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī
wamuḥammad ʿarabī
The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ يَا
خَيْرَ كُلِّ الأَنْبِيَاءْ
yā rasūla Allahi yā
khayra kullil anbiyā’
O Messenger of God, O
Best of all prophets
نَجِّنَا مِنْ هَاوِيَةْ
يا زَكِيَّ المَنْصِبِ
najjinā min hāwiyah
īā zakiyyal manṣibi
Save us from the abyss
O pure of rank
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl

And peace upon the Messenger
الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī
wamuḥammad ʿarabī
The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
وَعَلَى عَلَمِ الهُدَى
أَحْمَدَ مُفْنِي العِدَى
waʿalā ʿalamil hudā
aḥmada mufnīl ʿidā
And upon the banner of guidance
Ahmad, destroyer of enemies
جُدْ بِتَسْلِيمٍ بَدَا
لِلنَّبِيِّ اليَثْرِبِيّ
jud bitaslīmin badā
lilnnabiyyil yathribiyy
Grant with a visible greeting
To the Prophet of Yathrib
الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِي
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّسُولْ
aṣ ṣalātu ʿalan nabī
was salāmu ʿalar rasūl

And peace upon the Messenger
الشَّفِيعِ الأَبْطَحِي
وَمُحَمَّدْ عَرَبِي
ash shafīʿil abṭaḥī

The intercessor of Al-Abtahi
And Muhammad, the Arab
وَعَلَيْهِ فَسَلِّمْ مَا
مَاسَ غُصْنٌ فِي الحِمَا
waʿalayhi fasallim mā
māsa ghuṣnun fīl ḥimā
And upon him, peace be
As long as a branch sways in the sanctuary
أَوْ بَدَا بَدْرُ السَّمَا
فِي بَهِيمِ الغَيْهَبِ
aw badā badrus samā
fī bahīmil ghayhabi
Or the full moon appears
In the dark of night
