لَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا ذَالْحِلْمِ وَالْعَفْوِ وَالسِّتْرِ
وَحَمْدِيَ مِنْ نُعْمَاكَ يَا وَاسِعَ الْبِرِّ
lakal ḥamdu yā dhaālḥilmi wal ʿafwi was sitri
waḥamdiya min nuʿmāka yā wāsiʿal birri
Praise be to You, O Lord of patience, forgiveness, and concealment
And my praise is from Your blessings, O Vast in goodness
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَدَّ الْقَطْرِ والْرَمْلِ وَالْحَصَى
وَعَدَّ نَبَاتِ الْأَرْضِ وَالْحُوتِ فِي الْبَحْرِ
lakal ḥamdu ʿaddal qaṭri wālramli wal ḥaṣā
waʿadda nabātil arḍi wal ḥūti fīl baḥri
Praise be to You as numerous as the raindrops, sand, and pebbles
And as numerous as the plants of the earth and the fish in the sea
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَدَّ النَّمْلِ وَالْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ
وَمِلْءَ السَّمَا وَالْعَرْشِ وَالْكَوْكَبِ الدُّرِّ
lakal ḥamdu ʿaddan namli wal jinni wal insi
wamil’as samā wal ʿarshi wal kawkabid durri
Praise be to You as numerous as the ants, the jinn, and mankind
And as full as the sky, the throne, and the shining stars
وَمِلْءَ الْفَضَا وَاللَّوْحِ وَالْكُرْسِي وَالثَّرَى
وَعَدَّ جَمِيعِ الْكَائِنَاتِ إِلَى الْحَشْرِ
wamil’al faḍā wal lawḥi wal kursī wath tharā
waʿadda jamīʿil kā’ināti ilal ḥashri
And as full as the space, the tablet, the chair, and the soil
And as numerous as all creatures until the Day of Resurrection
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّي كَمَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ
فَإِنِّيَ لَا أُحْصِي الثَّنَاءَ مَدَى الدَّهْرِ
lakal ḥamdu yā rabbī kamā anta ahluhu
fa inniya lā uḥṣīth thanā’a madad dahri
Praise be to You, my Lord, as You deserve
For I cannot count the praises throughout eternity
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا مُعْطِي الْمَوَاهِبَ بِالْفَضْلِ
وَمَانِحَ أَهْلِ اللهِ بِالْفَتْحِ وَالنَّصْرِ
lakal ḥamdu yā muʿṭīl mawāhiba bil faḍli
wamāniḥa ahlillāhi bil fatḥi wan naṣri
Praise be to You, O Giver of talents by grace
And Bestower upon the people of Allah with opening and victory
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ بِالأَنْفَاسِ وَالْجِسْمِ وَالْقَلْبِ
تَفَضَّلْ عَلَى عَبْدٍ تَحَيَّرَ فِي الْأَمْرِ
lakal ḥamdu bil anfāsi wal jismi wal qalbi
tafaḍḍal ʿalā ʿabdin taḥayyara fīl amri
Praise be to You with every breath, body, and heart
Bestow upon a servant bewildered in the matter
فَإِنِّي وَإِنْ كَانَتْ ذُنُوبِي تَعُوقُنِي
فَلِي فِيكَ حُسْنُ الظَّنِّ يَجْبُرُ لِي كَسْرِي
fa innī wa in kānat dhunūbī taʿūqunī
falī fīka ḥusnuẓ ẓanni yajburu lī kasrī
For even if my sins hinder me
I have good expectations in You to mend my brokenness
فَمُنَّ عَلَيْنَا يَاغُفُورُ بِتَوْبَةٍ
تَجُبُّ الَّذِي قَدْ كَانَ فِي سَالِفِ الْعُمْرِ
famunna ʿalaynā yāghufūru bitawbatin
tajubbul ladhī qad kāna fī sālifil ʿumri
So grant us, O Forgiving, a repentance
That erases what has been in the past life
وَزِدْنَا مِنَ النَّعْمَاءِ وَالنُّورِ وَالْكَشْفِ
وَمَكِّنَّا فِي الْإِرْشَادِ بِالْإِذْنِ وَالسِّرِّ
wazidnā minan naʿmā’i wan nūri wal kashfi
wamakkinnā fīl irshādi bil idhni was sirri
And increase us in blessings, light, and revelation
And empower us in guidance with permission and secret
وَ أَيِّدْنَا فِي أَقْوَالِنَا وَفِعَالِنَا
وَيَسِّرْ لَنَا الْأَرْزَاقَ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا نَدْرِي
wa ayyidnā fī aqwālinā wafiʿālinā
wayassir lanal arzāqa min ḥaythu lā nadrī
And support us in our words and deeds
And make provisions easy for us from where we do not know
فَهَا نَحْنُ فِي بَابِ التَّفَضُّلِ وَاقِفٌ
وَمُنْتَظِرٌ عَطْفَ الْحَبِيبِ بِلَا عُسْرِ
fahā naḥnu fī bābit tafaḍḍuli wāqifun
wamuntaẓirun ʿaṭfal ḥabībi bilā ʿusri
Here we are at the door of generosity, standing
And waiting for the beloved's kindness without hardship
فَأَنْعِمْ عَلَيْنَا يَا مُجِيبُ بِسُرْعَةٍ
فَإِنَّكَ أَهْلُ الْجُودِ وَالْمَنِّ وَالْخَيْرِ
fa anʿim ʿalaynā yā mujību bisurʿatin
fa innaka ahlul jūdi wal manni wal khayri
So bless us, O Responder, quickly
For You are worthy of generosity, favor, and goodness
فَفَضْلُكَ مَوْجُودٌ بِغَيْرِ وُجُودِنَا
وَجُودُكَ مَسْدُولٌ عَلَيْنَا بِلَا نُكْرِ
fafaḍluka mawjūdun bighayri wujūdinā
wajūduka masdūlun ʿalaynā bilā nukri
Your grace exists without our existence
And Your generosity is extended upon us without denial
وَوَفِّقْنَا لِلشُّكْرِ الَّذِي هُوَ لَازِمٌ
عَلَيْنَا وَيَسْتَدْعِي الْمَزِيدَ بِلَا خُسْرِ
wawaffiqnā lilshshukril ladhī huwa lāzimun
ʿalaynā wayastadʿīl mazīda bilā khusri
And guide us to gratitude, which is obligatory
Upon us and calls for more without loss
وَأَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ سِجْنِ الْجُسُومِ وَرَقِّنَا
لِحَضْرَةِ أَرْوَاحِ ثَوَابًا عَلَى الشُّكْرِ
wa akhrijnā min sijnil jusūmi waraqqinā
liḥaḍrati arwāḥi thawāban ʿalash shukri
And take us out of the prison of bodies and elevate us
To the presence of spirits as a reward for gratitude
وَأَشْهِدْنَا مَعْنَى الذَّاتِ فِي كُلِّ مَظْهَرِ
لِيَقْوَى شُهُودِي فِي الشَّدَائِدِ وَالْيُسْرِ
wa ashhidnā maʿnadh dhāti fī kulli maẓhari
liyaqwā shuhūdī fīsh shadā’idi wal yusri
And make us witness the meaning of the essence in every manifestation
So that my witnessing strengthens in hardships and ease
وَأَفْنِنَا عَنَّا وَابْقِنَا بِكَ دَائِمًا
لِنَلْحَقَ أَهْلَ الْإِرْثِ مِنْ حَضْرَةِ السِّرِّ
wa afninā ʿannā wab qinā bika dā’iman
linalḥaqa ahlal irthi min ḥaḍratis sirri
And annihilate us from ourselves and keep us with You always
To join the people of inheritance from the presence of the secret
فَأَمْرُكَ لِلْأَشْيَاءِ فِي قَوْلِ كُنْ تَكُنْ
فَكَوِّنْ لَنَا الْأَشْيَاءَ عَزْمًا بِلَا مَكْرِ
fa amruka lilashyā’i fī qawli kun takun
fakawwin lanal ashyā’a ʿazman bilā makri
For Your command to things is in the word "Be" and they are
So create for us things with determination without deceit
وَصَلِّ بِأَنْوَاعِ الْكَمَالَاتِ كُلِّهَا
عَلَى أَحْمَدَ الْهَادِي إِلَى حَضْرَةِ الطُّهْرِ
waṣalli bi anwāʿil kamālāti kullihā
ʿalā aḥmadal hādī ilā ḥaḍratiṭ ṭuhri
And send prayers with all kinds of perfections
Upon Ahmad, the guide to the presence of purity
وَآلِهِ وَالصَّحْبِ الْكِرَامِ وَمَنْ دَعَا
لِنَاظِمِ هَذَا النَّاظْمِ بِالشَّرْحِ لِلصَّدْرِ
wa ālihi waṣ ṣaḥbil kirāmi waman daʿā
lināẓimi hadhan nāẓmi bish sharḥi lilṣṣadri
And his family and noble companions and whoever prayed
For the composer of this composition with the explanation of the chest
وَيَا رَبِّ بِالْهَادِي الرَّؤُوفِ مُحَمَّدِ
أَنِلْنَا عُلُومًا تَنْفَعُنَا يَوْمَ الْحَشْرِ
wayā rabbi bil hādīr raūfi muḥammadi
anilnā ʿulūman tanfaʿunā yawmal ḥashri
And O Lord, by the guide, the compassionate Muhammad
Grant us knowledge that benefits us on the Day of Resurrection
وَقَوِّنَا بِالْأَنْوَارِ فِي كُلِّ لَحْظَةٍ
وَثَبِّتْنَا عِنْدَ الْخَتْمِ وَالنَّزْعِ وَالْقَبْرِ
waqawwinā bil anwāri fī kulli laḥẓatin
wathabbitnā ʿindal khatmi wan nazʿi wal qabri
And strengthen us with lights in every moment
And make us steadfast at the end, in extraction, and in the grave
